Why do the regular events of life succeed in deceiving you? Because you are not available to them; because you are not looking at them as they are; because you are not listening to what they are really saying right now. Instead, you are carrying images and echos—images of scenes from the past, echos of sounds from the past. So, what is really happening currently is obfuscated into the background.

Really see what is going on. It is not difficult. In fact, it is so easy that we have been unbelieving it. Nothing is easier, really easier, than just direct observation, observation without bias, without clutter, without fear—just seeing directly.
